FAQ

How do I sign up as an influencer?

To sign up as an influencer simply visit the media & influencer page and select your primary channel from the options, if you are a journalist you may select the Media Signup option.

Can I connect multiple accounts?

Yes, after you have registered with your primary account you can verify all of your additional/secondary channels in your profile menu.

What is the verification process?

We require that all media and influencers on the Indie Boost platform be verified. This means that we look at your channel to determine whether you regularly post relevant content and whether you have an active community. We are more interested in the quality of your content than your subscriber count.

How can I request games and/or interviews?

Once your account has been verified, you will get access to explore and discover games on the platform and you will have the option to request keys and/or interviews for every game in your dashboard.

How long does it take to get a key/interview request response?

This depends on the developer whom you are sending the request to. Some may send the key immediately while others may take a few days. Please note that the developer is not obligated to send you a key although we do encourage them to provide a review copy to everyone.

What are the benefits compared to other key request platforms?

The main benefits are Indie Boosts curation system that filters and presents you with the games that you are most likely to be interested in as well as it’s boost feature that delivers pre loaded keys directly to your inbox for games that are coming out soon.

How do I submit content?

Once you have received a key and created content you can paste the link to your video or article on your keys page. The link will get shared with the developer and our team.

What is an embargo? How will I know when I can stream/post content about a game?

An embargo means that you can’t post any coverage or share any images from a game until the set embargo date. You can publish your content on the embargo date.

If I’m not verified, do you have any tips to be able to get verification status?

We’re looking for influencers who are active and have good engagement with their communities. If you’re a prospective content creator or journalist looking to get started on Indie Boost, we suggest that you continue posting content and make sure you’re interacting with your community!

I’m locked out of my account, what do I do?

If you’re sure you’re logging in from the right page and your reset password email isn’t in your spam folder, please feel free to reach out to us via the chat window in the bottom right hand corner of your screen.

Can I request more than one key? What if I wanted to do a giveaway?

You can request more than one key, but it is up to the developer whether or not they will fulfill multiple key requests from one account. If it is a multiplayer game that requires more than one key to properly review it, your requests will likely be granted, but if it’s a single player game, the developer may choose to send one key.
We ask that you only request keys for games you will cover on your own channels. When developers send you keys through our system, it is with the expectation that you will create content for your audience with it.

Is there a limit to how many games I can request?

There isn’t a limit to how many games you can request, but please try to limit your requests to a reasonable amount of games that you can create content for. Additionally, having too many outstanding key requests can result in a temporary hold being placed on your account.

I’ve had some key requests that are taking a long time to be fulfilled, did I do something wrong?

Keys come directly from the developers themselves, and some developers may take longer than others to respond to requests. Additionally, some games might not have review codes ready to distribute, especially if their release date is a little far off. We ask that you be patient with the developers, your keys are coming soon!

If a hold is placed on my account, how do I get back in good standing?

We understand that sometimes life gets hectic and sometimes you don’t have time to create content! If you find that your account has a hold placed on it, please send us links for 3 pieces of content for games you’ve gotten through us, and we’ll be more than happy to reinstate your account.

Do I have to create coverage of the game?

In a perfect world, you’d be able to cover all the games, but we know that sometimes you’re just not able to. While we do suggest that you create content for as many games as you can, sometimes you won’t be able to cover a game. If you’re unable to cover a game because of a technical issue, please be sure to let us know.
